It looks like JE didn’t waste a lot of time after that Summer 2004 Johnny’s Jr. audition in which Yamada Ryosuke, Morimoto Ryutaro, Fukasawa Tatsuya and Abe Ryohei (whom I forgot to mention the other day, gomen!) made their first steps into the entertainment world. I’m pretty sure I have seen Yamada backdance in the 2004.10.03 Shonen Club during the Kanjani8 Naniwa iroha bushi performance. He might even have been in the September Shonen Club, but the video quality is terrible, there are dozens of backdancing chibis and no close ups, so it’s impossible to tell. Anyway, I’ve put all the audition pieces from those 5 or 6 Ya-Ya-yah shows in the Summer of 2004 together into one video that runs roughly 16 minutes, and I’ve uploaded it because it has many cute little scenes of historical importance, like Morimoto being interviewed after his first Live Stage, or Fukasawa’s first Wink Up photoshoot. (The report also features Yabu, Hikaru, Taiyo, Yuto, a Ya-Ya-yah Live Stage performance of Yume monogatari, and clips from the 2004 Summary concerts.)
So what do we learn from this? Suzuki Yuta may have kind of won that audition back then, but that’s pretty much everything we ever heard or saw of him. He left JE in 2006. Sometimes 15 minutes of fame is all you’ll ever get.
