As I’m writing this Hey!Say!JUMP are one hour into their debut concert at Tokyo Dome, and it’s really really bugging me that I can’t be there. It feels so weird to know exactly where they are and what they’re doing while I’m sitting here in front of my computer sulking. But what are you gonna do.
So anyway, last night Hey!Say!JUMP were on Music Station Super Live, and I hope they’ll never perform Ultra Music Power on TV again. Or at least not in the near future. Not that I don’t like the song, I’m still lovin’ it, but it’s been a little over 5 weeks since it was released and they have performed it on TV what, 300 times? 500? Seriously, they need new songs. I hope they’re performing some new songs at Tokyo Dome right now and on TV in the next couple of weeks and months. Or even some of the old ones. Anything. For all I care they could let BEST perform Bon Bon or something. Just don’t make me sit through any more dreamjumping for at least a while.
I’m sorry if that sounds as if the performance last night wasn’t good or anything. It was just as good or bad as any other. Fast camera movements and rapid cuts made it kinda difficult to make some reasonable screencaps, but I got a few:
Yay for Anderson close up right at the beginning. Whatever the performance is, be it Shonen Club or Music Station or HHS or HSF Live Stages, Anderson can always be found somewhere. At least I notice him a lot more often than let’s say Iwamoto or Takino or (sadly) Kanda. That’s good for Anderson, and it’s good for me because I like seeing this kid, and I want more. How many more times do I have to say it?
I liked that short little scene with Yuto and Ryosuke during the performance, but when I tried to make screencaps of that scene they both looked kinda weird in every single shot, so the one on the right is the best I’ve got.
Oh Yuto. It’s amazing what a little somatotropin can do. He’s become so freakishly tall. Is he, like, the tallest member in HSJ now? I don’t know. Almost, I guess. I’ve known him for years now and most of this time he had been this tiny little kid, and look at him now. I never would have thought he’d grow that tall. I mean, think about Taiyo. Even when he was 11 he was a lot taller than the average kid his age, so it’s not a surprise that ended up so tall. But Yuto? I never would have thought that. It’s not a bad thing though. Yuto’s growing into an incredibly sexy young man, no matter what height he ends up at.
But why, for heaven’s sake, was he carrying a dead animal around on his shoulder? Are ferrets a Christmas symbol in Japan or something? Ryutaro was wearing snowballs. At least that kinda makes sense. Okay, all jokes aside, I liked those Santa’s Little Helpers costumes. I’ll be in full Christmas mode until Tuesday, so yeah, elves are fine with me. And I want to hear Yuto sing White Christmas on the Shonen Club Christmas SP tomorrow, but I don’t think it’ll happen.
What bugged me the most about yesterday’s MSSL performance was that I had to watch it 3 friggin’ times until I finally spotted Keito. He used to be so recognizable with his auburn hair, and now… Oh well, even with green hair it would have been difficult to spot him in this performance because he didn’t get a lot of screen time. This is the best shot I could get of him. I like his hair, I really do. I mean the fact that it’s growing longer and everything. But he should have kept that auburn colour.
Short talk segment after the performance. Yuto said how happy they all are that they got the chance to debut, and Chinen brags about how he grew 13cm this year, to which Tamori-san replied that in 10 years he’ll be like 5m tall. Haha.
I uploaded the video for those who couldn’t find it elsewhere: 2007-12-21 Music Station Super Live – Hey!Say!JUMP.avi (82.65 MB)
And in other news, that Kamiki Ryunosuke Photobook I ordered last week has arrived today. And….. it….. is….. AWESOME. 96 pages full of really beautiful pics. I don’t even think Kamiki is all that pretty, but the camera loves him, and so do I. Honestly, this is the best Christmas present I can think of, even if I had to buy it myself.
