Okay, problem solved. 「心・技・体」 is [shin・gi・tai] and refers to the three qualities of a sumo wrestler (and other martial artists as well I guess), which are actually spirit, technique and physique, but I thought mind, art and body sounded so much better as a headline.

As Akaru was kind enough to point out to me twice it may be a pun on shinjitai (I want to believe) . After looking at the lyrics I want to believe it too. Kinda. After a first glance at the rest of the song lyrics “I want to believe” makes as much sense to me as “Mind, Art & Body”. I’ll wait until someone comes up with a proper translation of the lyrics. Until then all I know is that the title is written 心・技・体 and pronounced shin・gi・tai. So yeah.

With a song title like that you’d expect something distinctly Asian, and it was. Powerful, upbeat, ambitious. That 千手観音 [Senju Kannon = thousand-armed Goddess of Mercy] thing was pretty cool, albeit not quite perfect. LOL at seeing them lined up according to their height, which put Daiki in the #4 position. Maybe he should think about wearing some boots that make him look a bit taller, haha.

And what the hell was Ryosuke doing there at the center near the end?!? Wait, stop! Don’t tell me, I already know! HE ROCKED. Like hell he did. He is such an awesome dancer. And don’t even get me started about his iguana hair. ホントにかっこよかったなぁ。

Speaking of hair, Ryutaro had a haircut too. Very nice. And speaking of dancing, Keito has come a long way in the last couple of months. I mean, look at his first Shokura appearance. He was totally intimidated and he seemed kinda relieved when it was over. It’s really great to see how his stage presence has improved.

So anyway, nice song, but not one of my favourites. The chorus was nice, but I’m not a big fan of rapping.

Up next, Taku and Sanada reading their letters and then being joined by Hasshi to perform Honey Rider. That song title is what’sですよ!? but the song itself really rocked. And Hashimoto definitely deserves more solos. Great voice.

And finally 「トビラの向こう」[Tobira no mukou]. I already said it yesterday, I love that song, and that’s why I was actually looking forward to seeing it performed today even more. And it was great. I really liked the whole pairing up thing I award 20 extra points to Ryutaro for calling Takaki Takagi, and 15 extra points for Takagi’s reply (”TakaKI darou!”). It was just a whole lot of fun. The whole performance was.

So anyway. Yeah, here’s 「心・技・体」 For the other videos from today’s Shokura please check my Yutotube channel and subscribe to it as long as they haven’t deleted it yet. For avi and mp3 download links check back here later. I’ll edit this post as soon as I have them.

If this episode of Shonen Club did one thing to me it’s that it reminded me why I am a Johnny’s fan and why I think that discovering Johnny’s is one of the best things that ever happened to me. Not that I needed to be reminded of that because it’s on my mind when I wake up in the morning, it’s on my mind when I go to sleep, and it’s on my mind all the times in between. It may not be healthy, but it sure is a lot of fun.
