A wet dream come true

by Kamichan | January 11, 2008

And no, I’m not talking about one of my own dreams this time.

NEWS, and please correct if I’m wrong, never played a concert at Tokyo Dome before, right? I think I’ve read somewhere that it was always one of Yamapi’s biggest dreams to play Tokyo Dome with NEWS, and I can only imagine how much it must have bugged him that Hey!Say!JUMP had their Dome con 39 days after their debut while he and NEWS had to wait 4 years. But anyhow, the wait was over on Wednesday, and Yamapi’s dream came true. And according to the video it was a rather wet experience.

Nice. Actually it’s one of my biggest dreams too, a concert at Tokyo Dome, but I guess I’ll have to wait a little longer.

So anyway, did you see Matchy? Wow. I never would have thought I’d ever say this about a 43-year-old, but… what a sexy young man!

And in other news, Arashi will release their new single Step and Go on February 20. Okay, so that’s a KAT-TUN single on February 6, a V6 DVD on February 13, and Arashi’s single on February 20. I don’t think there will be any releases on the 27th because that week all the calendars will go on sale, so people will spend all their money on those. And NEWS new single on the 27th.

So what about new Hey!Say!JUMP releases? Well, while I’m pretty sure they’ll release a DVD this year I’m not quite sure if this will happen in the first half. The DVD will most likely be a concert plus some behind-the-scenes footage. Okay, they had the Tokyo Dome concert but on that single day there probably wasn’t a whole lot of things going on behind the scenes. Other than that they had the Volleyball World Cup, but I don’t really know if I want to see any of that on a DVD. On the other hand, there will be that “Big Event” in July and August. If that’s going to be a series of concerts like Daibouken, you know, like, 30 concerts in 20 days or something, that would be perfect for a DVD because you can edit the best parts of each concert together so that it looks like it’s all from one concert, plus, there’d be tons of backstage footage to choose from. So yeah, for a JUMP DVD I’m putting my money on a release in September or October. Of course I may be wrong, and I’ll be happy to admit that if they announce a DVD for April tomorrow, but right now I think it’s going to be late summer/early autumn.

Okay, next, an album. I have no doubts at all that JUMP will release an album this year, and I’m pretty sure it’ll be during the summer. The Big Event will most likely be from late July to mid-August. I see an album coming on July 2nd or 9th. Probably the 2nd because Johnny will want them to top the July album charts so he’ll give them the whole month to sell their album, and those who don’t buy it at the beginning of the month will buy it at the end of it together with the other concert goods. So yeah, HSJ album in July. And if I’m wrong and they release it in May that’s fine with me too.

And finally, a new single. I think that will happen in April. Why April, why not earlier? Because there’s not enough time for promotion and stuff. Yamachan is in One Pound Gospel until the end of March, and Yabu will be in Dreamboys throughout the whole month of March (that is confirmed on Johnny’s Net btw). They just won’t have the time to promote a single. So April it’ll be, the 9th or 16th. And maybe a 3rd single together with their album in July.

Awesome, no?
