Keito is all over the news in Japan today. Unfortunately it’s not exactly good news. Actually it’s not really “news” at all because it happened almost a year ago, except nobody knew about this until yesterday, and I think it’s kinda weird how Sankei dragged Keito into this piece of old news. Their headline reads:
Okamoto Kenichi Divorced… His Son Is Hey!Say!JUMP’s Keito
The article says that Okamoto Kenichi divorced his former wife last March. Erm… okay, she’s his former wife now, but when he divorced her she still was his wife, wasn’t she? So saying he divorced his former wife is kinda… weird. It’s like saying “the car bomb killed 15 dead people” or something. Anyway…
Johnny’s Jimusho was informed of the divorce in writing, but didn’t comment on this rather personal issue. Okamoto Keito also refused any comments, but according to a friend the couple had differing views on child rearing, and apparently Keito‘s mom 西克恵 (no idea how to pronounce this) wasn’t too happy with her husband’s decision to send Keito off to England. The couple had already been separated for 2 years prior to the divorce, and Okamoto Kenichi retains child custody of Keito.
I don’t have any comments either. Okay, divorces are never pretty, especially if children are involved, but this happened a year ago and even then they had already been separated for 2 years. So that’s 3 years. Keito didn’t kill himself until now, so I’m sure he learned to live with it.
Moving on.
Sweet Jesus, how can someone forget about their own birthday? Okay, not exactly my birthday but that of my blog, but still. If I didn’t check my own blog every day and if it weren’t for that This Day In History section in the sidebar menu I totally would have forgotten it. Alzheimer’s?
Anyway, quin_tessen_ce asked me to re-upload a video that I posted to my blog a year ago, and I did. It’s a cpouple of Ya-Ya-yah clips from 2002, coverage of the Kick Odaiba event and promotion of their single. And as quin_tessen_ce pointed out in her comment, it’s ironic how they mention that 3 of the 5 members were born in Heisei. Oh well. Here’s the link: http://www.mediafire.com/?5mdoclvx21s
And in other news, last night I dreamed that I met Heath Ledger, and we hugged. Which is strange because I never was a fan, nor did I ever see any of his films. He was kinda cute though.
