I don’t know, could it?
I think it could be, even though it wasn’t this time. I absolutely adore Eoghan, the voice, the face, the hair, the whole package. That’s why I can connive at a lot of things, and I do. I’ve seen better renditions of Could It Be Magic, and I’ve seen better performances from Eoghan. But what the heck, I still think Eoghan will be in the final and I’m sure the longer he stays in the competition the more likely he will deliver a performance that will completely blow everyone away. Until that happens he’s got the cuteness factor, mums and daughters love him and will vote for him. And let’s not forget, Simon Cowell created the program. He owns it. If he wants Eoghan to be in the final (and he clearly does) Eoghan will be in the final. TV audiences are so susceptible. They hear what the judges say and go like “Exactly what I was thinking! Now hand me that phone.” Simon Cowell pushed George Sampson through to the Britain’s Got Talent final, he’ll push Eoghan through as well, and I love him for that because he believes, like I do, that Eoghan has that winning performance in him somewhere.
On a sidenote, I highly recommend Ben Elton‘s hilarious novel Chart Throb. If you enjoy casting shows like The X Factor, American Idol etc it’s a must read, and it’ll change the way you look at these programs. Chart Throb is a great read and it’s available from Amazon.co.uk and Amazon.com
.
And don’t forget, The X Factor Finalists‘ charity CD single Hero: Help for Heroes is also available from Amazon.co.uk.
