May 2009. It was exactly 25 years ago when I bought my very first computer. It was also exactly 25 years ago when all the problems started.
24 hours ago my computer (my current one, not the one I bought 25 years ago) was pretty much dead. It wouldn’t boot, and my new hard disk was making funny noises. Except they weren’t funny but scary. I tried a lot of things, including installing WinXP three times on various old hard disks I had lying around. And somehow I made it work. In the evening I managed to get back online. I finally felt like a human being again.
That’s the good news. The bad news is that I lost some 30GB of data. 30 GB of important data, including:
- All my applications. Video editing, sound editing, image processing, tools, utilities, all of it.
- All my emails. 5 years worth of emails, thousands of them. Many of them meant a lot to me for personal reasons. Many of them contained important links and log-in information for dozens of websites.
- All my settings. Bookmarks, favorites, email accounts, all gone.
- All my passwords! I’m lazy, I had Firefox save dozens of passwords for dozens of sites. Never bothered to write any of them down. Sure you can click on the famous Forgot Password? link, and they’ll send you a new one via email. Except like I said, all my email settings were gone too.
Last night my computer was like a man who had suffered from a stroke. He was alive, but he had forgotten everything. Now he has to learn everything from scratch. Learn how to speak, learn how to walk, how to move his hands, everything.
Well, look at me now! Here I am, sitting in front of my computer, writing a blog entry and posting a video that I ripped of Youtube and converted to .avi and mp3. It’s almost as if nothing bad ever happened. Except it has.
Anyway, enough of that.
Hi!Hey!Say! Live Stage yo!
Poor Hikaru. Isn’t it enough that he has to sing that song in every single episode of School kakumei? Do they have to make him sing it on Hi!Hey!Say! too? :/ But to make it a little more exciting they added another song that he hardly ever sung before.

Oh dear, I have a headache from all the eye rolling.
P.S. Yeah, I know, Yamachan‘s birthday. Well, I had better things to do in the last 24 hours than to think of a witty birthday post for him. Besides I already congratulated him on Twitter. Not my fault that he isn’t following me (yet).
