… there is no other news. At least no Hey!Say!JUMP related news, which is kinda bleh, but what are you gonna do. It’s not my fault (or is it? D:) that it’s been 7 years since JUMP’s last single. Okay, it’s 7 months, but it feels like 7 years.
So let’s see what else is happening in Japan, apart from all the things that are not happening.
Kamiki Ryunosuke turned 16 years old yesterday, which I completely forgot. Sorry ’bout that. But yay for being 16! He can now legally drink beer in Germany, how about that? But he can’t over here because he has to spend the next three months in hospital. OMG, why? No, it’s not the swine flu. It’s his new TV drama series ??????? [Akahana no Sensei, Red Nose Teacher]. It’s about a teacher who is constantly drunk teaches kids at a hospital who are too sick to attend school. And he tries to do it in a funny way, hence the red nose. Kinda like Patch Adams meets Red Nose Day. Kamiki plays one of the students (duh!) and so does cute little Suga Kenta, yay. Akahana no Sensei airs Wednesdays at 10pm on NTV, starting in July. I’m kinda looking forward to that one. I haven’t seen any Kamiki stuff since Tantei Gakuen Q (I think?), and back then he was still a little dweeb. Now he’s 16 and working hard (doing a good job too) on making a smooth transition from cute to hot. Go Kamiki! ?
And in other news, during my frequent strolls through the various fandoms I fairly often encounter people asking “Does anyone know where I can buy Johnny’s stuff / Japanese magazines etc.?” Not everyone has a Kinokuniya in their neighbourhood, so some of you may be interested to know that Myojo magazine is available from Amazon.com for people living in the United States. A 1-year-subscription comes in at US$ 134. That’s a little over US11$ per magazine including free shipping. I don’t know if that’s good or bad (i.e. if that’s cheaper or more expensive than at Kinokuniya), but it doesn’t sound too bad to me, as it’s defuinitely cheaper than what Myojo costs over here. So yeah.
