The Britain’s Got Talent semi-finalists were revealed last night, 40 of them. Maybe a couple of surprises there. The #77716 boy I wrote about the other week didn’t make it, so I guess we’ll never know his name for sure. Someone who got at least 5 of the 15 minutes of fame he’s entitled to is 12-year-old drummer Kieran Gaffney. His audition was shown last night, he got 3 yesses, and a couple of minutes later it was revealed that he didn’t make it either.
To be honest, as amazing as it may be that he’s been doing this for only a year, I think the second time around it would have been somewhat boring, unless he’d come up with some really special moves, but I guess the judges couldn’t see that, so he’s out.
So yeah, first semi-final tonight. The world will be looking closely at Susan Boyle to see if she can repeat, or in fact top, the success of her first audition. She may have looked like the clear winner a couple of weeks ago, but I think this race is wide open. None of my other favourites in the first live show tonight, so today I’ll be rooting for Susan. And for the rest of the week I’ll be looking forward to Aidan Davis, Good Evans, Jamie Pugh, Shaheen Jafargholi, and Stavros Flatley. And maybe Julian Smith, the saxophone guy.
Oh damn, 10 more hours to wait…
