Last night’s Britain’s Got Talent semi final maybe wasn’t the best semi final so far, but it was my favourite because it had two of my favourite acts this year, Shaheen Jafargholi and Stavros Flatley. I love them both, and I thoroughly enjoyed both their performances. However, I was a wee bit surprised at the outcome.
Here’s the video, both performances plus the results because of all the emotion and the tears. I love seeing boys cry, because I’m just weird like that.
I don’t know what surprised me more, the fact that Stavros Flatley were voted #1 by the audience or the fact that Shaheen wasn’t.
Shaheen gave a great performance. I didn’t like the song, and that may be what cost him a couple of viewer votes, but he’s got the most amazing voice for a 12-year-old. Pure natural talent.
Not so much talent there with Stavros Flatley. I mean, let’s face it, they’re not the best dancers in the world, but their act is hilariously entertaining. I’m not sure I liked them as much as the first time around though. The first time they had that element of surprise which was missing last night as they were already naked at the beginning of their performance. So no big surprises, no new moves, they were just dancing to Greek music. Still, as I said, highly entertaining, but probably not enough to win this competition.
As for Shaheen, if he doesn’t mess up big time in the final on Saturday he should be in the top 3.
