Last night’s Britain’s Got Talent semi-final was, for me, the weakest of the shows so far. I didn’t really enjoy a lot of the acts, even though one of them had all I could possibly ask for: 12-year-old Callum Francis performed a 2-song medley from The Jungle Book, one of my all-time favourite movies, and he was wearing nothing but a towel around his hip. Sounds great on paper, but…
I think the reason I can’t warm up to this kid, even though he’s cute and I love his hair, is that he’s just a little bit too cheerful, to bubbly, too sweet for my taste. He was one of the top three, and even when he was told that he wouldn’t go through to the final he kept on grinning. Too much. Honestly, my favourite moment of his audition was when this tweet popped up on my screen.
So I guess my favourite act of the night was probably someone who wasn’t even in the competition, at least not this year. It was last year’s Britain’s Got Talent winner George Sampson. A year on, and he’s still speechless…
Was he supposed to run with his head into the wall at the end? o_O
