I love Shonen Club. Who doesn’t? But to be honest, guests, games, and solo numbers are all very nice, but the only thing I’m really looking forward to in each episode is the Junior Medley. The only thing that’s better than a Junior Medley is two Junior Medleys.
Tadaaa…
Here’s a Junior Medley from yesterday’s Shonen Club, followed by Fresh Jr Talk (Yoshino Shouta, yay!), followed by another Junior Medley. And if you’re very patient and sit through all this there’s a special treat for you waiting at the end, and that’s a news clip about NYC Boys that aired this morning.

Okay, just a few quick thoughts…
Yay for Nakaken and Kikuchi getting some attention. Enjoy it while it lasts, boys, before you know it you might be reduced to mere backdancers for somebody else. :/
Totsuka Shouta is a) way underrated, and b) very sexy.
I’ve never been a big fan of Kitayama, and I never will be. But I love his rendition of Sha la la.
Fresh Juniors, yay! I must say I was a bit surprised at how stiff, helpless and, in fact, intimidated Yoshino seemed to be, considering all his previous TV work, but I don’t blame him. This is a big step for anybody. By the end of the year he’ll look like he’s been on Shonen Club forever.
The 2nd medley was quite nice too. Canes and tap dancing seem awfully anachronistic, but I love it. Shintaro is a great big star. In the making. And Uekusa and Kyomoto need to debut as a duo in 2011, because I say so.
As for the NYC Boys clip… people are gonna be confused, aren’t they? I mean, not Johnny’s fans who know what’s going on, but the average TV viewer. On Friday’s Music Station they said “Johnny’s new unit Yuma with B.I.Shadow will debut next month”. In this clip they said “Johnny’s new unit NYC Boys will debut next month”. Bad PR management, Johnny-san. Some people will think there’s gonna be two debuts in July. Haven’t you confused people enough already? Jeez, man. >.>
It has been a crazy weekend. I’m still sorting out the aftermath (i.e. replying to 87376 comments), but I guess it all can be summed up like this: Yay for Yuma with B.I.Shadow and NYC Boys, but honestly, Hey!Say!JUMP need more love.
Speaking of which, a fan named Kari emailed me the other day. She’s holding a video contest as a way to spread Hey! Say! JUMP love all around the world. That is undoubtedly a very noble objective that deserves support, plus you can win prizes (Hey!Say!JUMP Limited Edition CDs) too. The contest started yesterday and will run through July 30th, so that’s plenty of time for you to check out the details end enter the contest of you like.
Oh, and the YwBIS / NYC Boys Limited Edition A just popped up on CDJapan. The others will probably follow soon. Yeah.
