What’s in a name?

by Kamichan | June 9, 2009

I don’t know. It’s difficult to tell, especially if you’re not sure what the name actually is. They were first announced as Nakayama Yuma w/ B.I.Shadow, right? On Music Station it was shortened to Yuma w/ B.I.Shadow. In all the news clips yesterday it was back to the original, except that the Japanese spelling now seems to be ???? w/ B.I.Shadow, you know, with the kanjis for Nakayama a lot smaller than the Yuma kanjis. So should the name that we in the English speaking fandom use be Nakayama Yuma w/ B.I.Shadow now? Well, most of us probably won’t bother to type out the full name anyway, so what’s it gonna be? YwBIS, or NYwBIS, or maybe even NYwBIS? I don’t know. Time will tell I guess. Who knows, depending on how much make up he’ll use in his vampire boy drama we might end up calling them Yuma with Eyeshadow. o_O

I think I’m gonna go with NYwBIS for the time being, and I have a hell of a great time pronouncing it newbies. YwBIS would be yewbees. Nah, I want newbies.

Anyway, I added two LJ communities to the toolbar, one of them is boysinshadow which focuses on the original B.I.Shadow, and b_i_shadow which is all about the new NYwBIS. And the b_i_shadow feed can now be found in the RSS menu as well. So yeah, if you already use the toolbar the links are now there for you ready to be used. If you’re not using the toolbar yet or don’t even know what the toolbar is please check it out and give it a try. Just click the toolbar tab at the top of this page or the icon in the sidebar menu.

In other news, in Johnny’s attempt to achieve world domination the next stop will be on Broadway. Well, almost. From November 12 to 22 SMAP’s Katori Shingo will star in the musical Talk Like Singing at the NYU Skirball Center. It tells the story of a young man named Taro (Katori) with an unusual illness – there’s a musical band inside his head. As a result, he has difficulty speaking normally, and instead expresses his thoughts and words through song. He winds up seeking help from a psycholinguistics doctor (Keiko Horiuchi) and a psychiatrist (Jay Kabira), who hatch up a plan to cure Taro by killing off the members of the band inside his head. (Tokyograph)

So yeah, sounds great to me, and I envy you people in NYC who will have a chance to see it later in the year.

And finally, I know there are worse things than waking up with Keito lying on top of you, but… it just became too much. I don’t know, the little sticky things I had used to put my Keito poster on the wall apparently didn’t take too well to the tropical German climate because they lost almost all their stickiness and a couple of weeks ago Keito started falling (jumping?) down on my bed. Preferably when I was asleep. At first I was flattered. Then it became annoying, so I finally had to nail the poor guy to the wall today. Yeah. If you can’t screw’em, nail’em.
