I’m in a bad mood today. And by bad I mean really BAD. D: But before I start one of my dreaded rants let me get the good news out of the way first.

Keito’s solo song.

In my report about the first Hey!Say!JUMP Tengoku concert at Yokohama Arena the other day I mentioned a Keito solo. At the time I wasn’t sure if that was indeed a solo song (you know, with actual singing and everything) or just a guitar solo (although that alone would have been awesome as well). I read a couple more concert reports from Japanese fans, and apparently Keito’s solo song is indeed a solo song.

Apparently the song is called Babylon, or at least that’s what most people call it because the word Babylon is repeated several times in the song.

How awesome is that?

He better be performing Babylon soon on TV because I really don’t want to wait for a DVD (if that’s ever going to happen at all).

So anyway, this is awesome, Keito is awesome, and Kamichan is awesomely happy. Go Keito!

So far the good news.

In other news, did I already mention that I’m in a bad mood? Here’s what happened. Earlier today I went to Youtube and searched for “NYC boys” to see if there’s anything new. Among my search results I found, funnily enough, a video of three boys who play(ed) Billy Elliot in London, and the video was titled Fresh from the Tap. That’s funny, I thought, because I posted that same video to my other blog some time ago and I titled the entry Fresh from the Tap. What are the odds? So I looked at the video, and in the description box I found an exact copy of my blog entry, with the note: “from a British friend”.

The thing is, I’m neither British, nor am I anybody’s friend, especially not if somebody re-posts my blog entries without my permission.

I then checked that person’s Youtube channel and found a total of 22 (!) videos, that had entries from either heysayheisei.com or boys-tv.net as video descriptions in the description box. I contacted the person in question and asked them to remove my writing from their videos, otherwise I would “release the hounds”. I’m still waiting for a reply.

I know what you’re thinking, and your’re wrong. I’m not being a hypocrite here for constantly posting copyrighted material here and as soon as somebody else posts my stuff elsewhere I get mad. The videos I post here are, for the most part things that are available on free terrestrial television, and I post them here for those who otherwise don’t have access to them. The financial damage for the respective copyright holders amounts to exactly zero.

However, the only thing that’s unique about my blogs is my writing. I’m a freelance writer, I’m trying to make a living off of my writing. If you copy my blog posts you’re in fact stealing what is essentially the foundation of a considerable part of my income. And I’m not having any of that. You can repost my video and audio rips, I don’t care. But if I catch you stealing my writing, and trust me, sooner or later I will, you have an enemy for life in me. And you don’t want that. So don’t do it.

End of rant. Have a nice weekend. I think in order to cool down I’m now gonna have some of that Croatian beer that my brother brought me from his vacation. Cheers.
