There will be no rant today, how about that?
Instead I’ll try to catch up with all the latest news, if there is any. Let’s see…
Akuma na koi / NYC sold another 13,772 copies in week three, so the total is now at 215,539. That’s not too bad, but still quite a bit short of the 250,000 required for a platinum certification. But the Volleyball Grand Prix is still going on, so the single will probably keep selling another couple of thousand copies every day for the next 2 or 3 weeks.
Ratings for episode 5 of Koishite Akuma ~ Vampire Boy are down to 5.3%. That’s not good at all (in fact, it’s really really bad), but there’s nothing anyone can do about it anyway, so…
In other news, former Johnny’s Jr. member Matsumoto Kazuki (26) was arrested for stealing pachinko balls last month (details here). He was part of a group of four men who stole a total of 10 million Yen worth of pachinko balls. One day they got 8,000 Yen for 3,300 balls, so if they made 10 million Yen they must have stolen around… 24 million pachinko balls, LOL. Crazy. Anyway, this is just another former Johnny’s member who got arrested, and it made me think that soon they should have enough of them in jail so they can do what those prison inmates on the Philippines have become famous for. XD
But enough of that. Nobody cares about my witty remarks anyway, right? The only reason people come here is videos and downloads, right?
Wrong.
But I’ll post a video anyway to lure people here so I can brainwash them, muahahaaahhhaahaahaaaaaa! *strokes the cat on his arm*
With all the volleyball stuff going on NYC boys are on Mezamashi for a short segment called Nekketsu Rainbow Attack every morning in which they introduce a different member of the ladies volleyball team, and in a longer segment later in the day called Ganbare Nippon Young Japan no Challenge ga hajimaru in which the boys play games with the volleyball ladies. I’ve uploaded all 6 videos from the last three days (August 4-6). Credit goes to WINDJP for the original uploads. I left the original file names, but I converted the videos from mpg to avi, reducing the file size by some 60% with no loss of quality (I hope).
As streaming video I decided to upload the August 4 Nekketsu Rainbow Attack, just so I could use that Terminator headline for this post, because I’m a sucker for my own headlines.
Download:
08/04 Nekketsu Rainbow Attack (Mori Kazuyo)
08/04 Nippon Young Challenge (Tower of Balls; who do you think is most likely to mess up this one? Yup, exactly.)
08/05 Nekketsu Rainbow Attack (Kanou Maiko)
08/05 Nippon Young Challenge (Speed Survival; fun to watch)
08/06 Nekketsu Rainbow Attack (Kimura Saori)
08/06 Nippon Young Challenge (World Darts; I want to know who hit Germany!)
And that’s that.
And finally, because people have been asking this a lot lately: you make money with your blog? How does THAT work?
It’s quite simple really. There are two ways. First are the Google ads that you can see on my site and on billions of other sites throughout the interwebs. They’re pay-per-click, so if someone clicks on an ad I get paid, usually a couple of cents. But hey, before you all start randomly clicking every Google ad you can find let me tell you: please don’t do it. Google has very sophisticated scripts to detect click fraud, so if you click on these ads all the time they will know that these are no legit clicks, and I won’t get paid. If you find an ad every once in a while that interests you and you click on it that’s fine, but by all means please don’t think you’re doing me a favor by clicking ads as much as you can. It doesn’t work that way.
The other way to make money are affiliate links to YesAsia and CDJapan. You can click on these ads as many times as you like, as they’re pay-per-sale clicks. That means I only get paid if you actually buy something. Example: you click on a link to CDJapan and buy a CD for 1,000 Yen you pay CDJapan 1,000 Yen and CDJapan pays me 50 Yen because they’re very nice people.
The important thing to know is that for you as a customer it doesn’t make any difference whatsoever. The price of your CDs will be the same no matter if you click on an affiliate link or if you type “www.cdjapan.co.jp” into your browser’s address bar. It only makes a difference for CDJapan and for me. If you go to CDJapan (or YesAsia) directly the big companies will get to keep all of your money. If you use one of my affiliate links (or the shopping links in your Johnny’s toolbar) the big companies will get to keep most of the money, and a struggling young writer will earn a couple of extra cents. You decide what you think is the right thing to do.
Like I said, for you as a customer it doesn’t make a difference, but for me every extra dollar makes a huge difference. So if you are going to buy CDs or DVDs anyway, and I know that many of you do, please consider using ony of my affiliate links because it would help me a lot. BTW, it doesn’t matter which link you click. Like, you can click on Takki‘s new single and then buy something completely different, I will still get paid. So don’t try to think about it too much, just remember that if you use my links you will help me a great deal. There are in fact a couple of wonderful people who whenever they want to buy something at YesAsia or CDJapan instead of going there directly they come here first so they can click on one of my links to support me. How awesome is that? I think it’s very awesome, and I love these people from the bottom of my heart. ♥
Okay, infomercial ends here. Have a nice day everyone.
