Life’s a contest

by Kamichan | September 15, 2009

I just noticed that I’ve made 7 posts in the last 3 days.^^;; Well, they had to be made, there was lots of stuff going on. But obviously neither Hey!Say!JUMP nor I can maintain that frequency, so I guess it’s time to slow down a little and concentrate on something completely different for a moment.

As you may or may not remember I promised a little surprise for you once my blog hits 2.5 million page views. Yeah well. The thing is I’d really love to have a great big competition where I can give a great deal of great prizes to everyone, with the first prize being a trip to Japan and a ticket to a Hey!Say!JUMP concert or something. Obviously that’s not going to happen. The economy isn’t doing great, and since my income from this blog is largely dependant on releases… well, with the amount of Hey!Say!JUMP releases  this year you can imagine that I’m not doing all that great at the moment.

So, no big prizes to give away, but I’ve decided to give a small token of appreciation to three of my dedicated readers. Yes, three of you will get to pick any one magazine or any one A3 laminated poster from my shop, and I will send it to you absolutely free, wherever in the world you may live.

All you have to do (yes, you have to do something) is to leave a comment to this post and tell me which one of my blog posts from that past 3½ years is your all time favourite and why. You don’t have to read or re-read the whole blog, but surely there must be one post or another from the past that you enjoyed so much that you remember it. And if you don’t remember when it was the Posts A – Z or the Tags A – Z might help you find it. If you still can’t find it just tell me what that post was about with as many details as you remember.

Also you need to tell me what it is that made that particular post so enjoyable or memorable for you. I don’t expect a 800-word essay, but it should be a little more than just “this post was so funny” or something.

So, if you want to take part in this just leave a comment with the word “contest” in the subject line and your answer in the comment body. If you don’t have an LJ account you can leave an anonymous comment, but you should include your email address so I can contact you if you win. All comments are screened, so I will be the only one who’s able to read them.

The deadline is Tuesday, September 22nd at 23:59 GMT. I will pick three winners from all entries, and I’ll contact the winners about the details (i.e. which prize you would like and where you want me to send it) next week. Good luck everyone, I’m looking forward to your comments.

Of course you can also leave a comment to this post if you don’t want to take part in the contest, in which case your comment will be uncreened as soon as I’ve read it.^^

And in other, completely unrelated news…

In episode 3 of Grease – The School Musical things finally got interesting. Auditions. Time for some dreams to come true and for others to be crushed. The whole episode was about the auditions, but I can’t post the whole episode here, even though it was very enjoyable to watch, so I just picked 5 minutes from somewhere around the middle.

Oh the drama.

We’re looking for someone with a personality, AND YOU DON’T HAVE IT. NEXT!!!

LOL, a rather cruel thing to say to a 13-year-old, I know, but I love it.

Quite interesting to see that almost everybody who didn’t get through was crying. Which is a good thing. Apart from seeing crying is the best thing your eyes can do. Crying cleans your soul, and with the amount of dirty souls out there everybody should be crying all the time.

Anyway, I have to lose a word or two about that Macaulay kid. First off, his name. Macaulay. He’s like… 16-ish? Born in the early 90s when Macaulay Culkin was at the top of his career, so I guess that’s where his name comes from. Nothing wrong with that. At least his parents picked the name of the actor and not the role he played, unlike in Germany where nobody knew how to pronounce “Macaulay”, and as a result 78% of today’s teenage boys in Germany are called “Kevin”. >.>

But enough of that, what’s in a name? The moment Macaulay walked into that classroom, with the way he looked and he moved, I knew he was going through. Not the greatest singer, but he’s got something to work with. And I loved how he was tugging at his sleeves. Very girly, very cute. ♥ I wonder what type of role he will get that will also fit his personality. I’m not sure if a camp Danny Zuko will work.
