No, the headline doesn’t refer to Hyakushiki. But speaking of HyakushikiHyakushiki is finally back, yay!

Today’s show was all about mushrooms, completely leaving out, however, magic mushrooms. Fujigaya and Keito went on location to a mushroom factory. Now “factory” doesn’t exactly sound like a place where food is grown, but if you watch the episode you will see that certainly wasn’t something you could call a farm or anything else. The rest of the show was all about eating mushrooms, and guess what, they were all umai! There was a tiny Yuruge bit at the end with Shoon and Keito, but I’ve seen better.

But anyway, it’s great to have Hyakushiki back. If you’d like to download my LQ recording of this episode scroll down to the end of this post.

So where was I? Oh, right. The Greatest Show on Earth. The headline doesn’t refer to Ya-Ya-yah either, but speaking of Ya-Ya-yah… uploading the old episodes is going quite nicely. I’ve completed 2005 and am currently uploading the 2006 episodes. Going through every episode one by one made it obvious to me that by late 2005 things had already begun to go downhill in terms of the show being hilariously entertaining. While almost every single one if the first 120 episodes was great the show became increasingly boring later on. There were still some occasional highlights every now and then, but I don’t know, somehow they must have managed to jump the shark when they were in Hawaii. =/

Anyway, where was I? Oh, right. The Greatest Show on Earth. Kamichan is a happy little science student today, because today my friendly mail man brought me my very own copy of the latest book by Richard Dawkins, The Greatest Show on Earth: The Evidence for Evolution. In his previous books on evolution Professor Dawkins had always explained how evolution works, but always regarding evolution as a given fact. Now he finally presents the scientific evidence for evolution. It’s the missing link in his series of books on the topic, and I know I’m going to have a hell of a good time reading it. You should read it too.

EDIT: here’s the man himself reading a bit from his book and getting interviewed on it.

Love his tie.

Sorry, this wasn’t much of a blog post today, but except for receiving that book I’ve actually had a pretty crappy and exhausting day, and I’m rather tired now. =_=
