After episode 3 of Shuumatsu YY JUMPing I think it’s safe to say that just like with Hi!Hey!Say! and the late Ya-Ya-yah shows the only reason to watch it really is the Live Stage. The surfing episode was more interesting to watch than the camping trip, but I guess that was only because of the rubber suits. My point remains: this would have been so much more fun if they’d had a bunch of Juniors with them instead of a bunch of b-list celebrities.
Oh well, at least there was a Live Stage. This week it was just Hikaru and the usual suspects performing Gentles. Even after all those years I still don’t like the song too much, but it sure was a fun performance, one that you can watch again and again and you’ll probably notice a new funny or interesting detail every time. Btw, I hate that I have to write “funny and interesting”. In Japanese they have a single word that means both and that’s omoshiroi.

Hikaru kicked Nozawa Yuki in the nuts. Can I approve of that? Hm, I watched the scene in slow motion, and Yuki seemed to smile. If it’s okay with him then I guess it’s okay with me.
In other news, I’m writing a book, as I may have mentioned before, and after the first week of writing I’m really pleased with how things are going. I still have to figure out a lot of things, and there’s still a mountain of work ahead of me, but these first couple of days have reminded me of why I love writing and why I would never want to do anything else. It also makes me feel kinda bad about all the years I’ve already wasted, but I hope I can put that behind me now and continue to do what I love doing. So yeah, I’m feeling confident about myself and about the future right now. That’s good.
