Oh what can I say, the year is coming to an end soon. I usually do a “year in review” post at the end of the year, but I guess that’s not gonna happen this year. There aren’t too many things to review from my point of view.
- Hey!Say!JUMP DVD in April. It sold reasonably well, but not enough to make it to the Top30 DVDs of the year.
- Nakayama Yuma w/ B.I.Shadow debut in July. Well, at least it was announced as a regular debut, and technically it was, but it was also the last we ever heard of NYwBIS. However, NYC boys are still around. Yay. =_=
- Snow Prince the movie, and Snow Prince Gasshoudan‘s CD debut. I loved the single, and I’ve read quite a few very good reviews of the movie. But unfortunately they were both commercial failures. =/
And I guess that’s it. It wasn’t the worst of years but it most definitely wasn’t the best. But every tunnel has a silver lining and at the end of every cloud there’s a pot of gold. It’s only three and a half weeks until the start of Yamada‘s new drama series Hidarime Tantei EYE, and Hey!Say!JUMP are doing the theme song. At least that’s what concert reports claim the guys have said themselves. I guess that’s as official as it gets at the moment. But I’m confident that there will be a single soon. So yeah.
And speaking of HTE…

So… Yuma will make a guest appearance on HTE. That’s nice. He is a decent actor after all, and I always enjoy watching him. And it’s not his fault that Mr Johnny-san keeps pimping the hell out of him. So yeah, two thumbs up for Yuma.
What they didn’t mention in this clip is that 23-year-old singer Crystal Kay will also appear on HTE, playing “a genius hacker living in confinement“. When I first heard the news I was a bit scared that she might end up doing the theme song. D: But I guess that’s not gonna happen. Well it better not. Anyway, yay for Crystal Kay. I don’t know the lady, but I guess her appearance on HTE won’t hurt the ratings.
On a personal note, as in previous years the many readers of my blog have been a constant source of joy for me this year with all their sometimes hilarious, sometimes annoying comments. Thank you, everybody, for reading and for all the support. I’m looking forward to all your comments in 2010.
So yeah. That was 2009, now bring in 2010.
