Throughout my professional career I’ve been taught by coaches and superiors and pretty much everybody else that if you have to give feedback to somebody always start with the positive things, not with the negative ones. Because it’s really easy and not very productive to completely crush a person’s self esteem if you say something like “Your presentation really sucked. But hey, I love your tie“. If you start with the negatives the person you’re giving feedback to will get really grumpy so that whatever positive thing you add later is pretty much lost on them. But if you do it the other way around and start with the positive points the other person is more likely to listen and to take in whatever you have to say to them, even if some of it is really bad. Makes sense, no?

Now my dear Johnny’s Entertainment Jimusho & Associates or whatever you are officially called, here’s an idea just for your consideration: the next time you do anything like the thing you’ve pulled off in the first two days of this year try doing it THE OTHER WAY AROUND!!!

Jeez. >_>

Seriously, if they had said something like “Hey, we’re gonna release Hitomi no screen as a single soon. Oh and btw, NYC boys will go from temporary to permanent.” the whole fandom would have been like “NYC boys? Yeah well, whatever. NEW HEY!SAY!JUMP SINGLE YAAAYYYY!!! *flail*

But anyway, all’s well that ends well, and I guess the new single is a done deal now. You can read about it here, here, here, and here. There still seems to be a bit of confusion about the exact title though. Some call it Hitomi no screen, some call it Hitomi no naka no screen. Doesn’t make much of a difference meaning-wise, but I’m pretty sure that during yesterday’s Yokohama Arena concert they announced the song as Hitomi no screen, and the majority of the newspapers call it that too, so I guess that’s what it is.

Oh and speaking of the concert yesterday, it really was a great and almost tear-jerking moment when Yamada announced the single. He said something like “Hitomi no screen will, after one and a half years…” (and when he mentioned those one and a half years all the fans start screaming because they already knew exactly what was coming) “… be our next single!“. Oh how I wish I could have been there. =/

Anyway, I love how all the papers are quoting JUMP members saying how great Hey!Say!JUMP is and how great 2010 will be for JUMP, and how Chinen says he wants to be at Kohaku 2010 with JUMP. Haha, that would be awesome. Let’s forget about 2009. Now it’s 2010, folks, and what a great year it will be. GO Hey!Say!JUMP!!! :D
