OMG, I don’t even know what to say.
First of all I’m of course happy that we finally got a release date for Hey!Say!JUMP‘s first album, aptly titled Jump No.1. And of course I’m also happy that it’s July 7th, the date I have predicted, because my awesome predictions are so wrong so often that it’s not even funny anymore.
For those of you who haven’t heard it yet, here’s the information that’s available so far:
First album release from Hey! Say! Jump featuring their debut song “Ultra Music Power” to the latest song “Hitomi no Screen,” newly-created songs and more for 17 tracks total (subject to change). Limited edition includes a 40-page premium booklet. Features an alternate jacket artwork.
Jump No.1 [Limited Edition] CD Japan – YesAsia
Jump No.1 [Regular Edition] CD Japan – YesAsia
So yeah, let’s see what else we have. According to Neowing, the Japanese version of CD Japan, the 17 songs on the album will include all five singles, Ultra Music Power (in a new recording I hope), Dreams come true, Your Seed, Mayonaka no Shadow Boy and Hitomi no Screen, as well as at least two other songs we’ve heard before, Jounetsu JUMP (oh well) and Memories. That’s a total of seven songs so far, which means that there will be another 10 songs that have yet to be announced. There might be a couple of other songs we already know, there will surely be a couple of new songs, and there might be a couple of solo songs as well. A Yamada solo is a given I suppose.
Two different versions, that’s no big surprise. However, the fact that the only difference between the two seems to be the booklet is a little bit disappointing. A limited edition with DVD would have been really nice, but that would also have been more expensive. The thing is, if you want to sell something you gotta know your customers. The vast majority of Hey!Say!JUMP fans are teenage girls who may not have as much money at their disposal as, say, Arashi or KAT-TUN fans who are older and more likely to have their own income. Taking that into account Jump No.1 is very nicely and very competitively priced at 2381yen (2500yen including tax).
So anyway, that’s it for now. It’s 40 days until the release date. In those 40 days more information will trickle in, we’ll get a preview of the covers and a complete track list sooner or later, so stay tuned. I’ll post any new info here on my blog as soon as it becomes available. You might want to subscribe to make sure you won’t miss anything. ^^
Btw, I have already preordered the Limited Edition because it will probably sell out very quickly.
