Stop the presses!

by Kamichan | June 14, 2010

The July Shonen Clubs were recorded today, and guests were KAT-TUN, who will release their album this week, and also Hey!Say!JUMP who will release their album next month when these episodes actually air. It seems that one group will guest star in one episode and the other group in the other, but I’m not sure in which episode JUMP will be.

Anyhow, it seems that they did indeed perform a song from their new album, Time, with lyrics by Takaki and arrangements by Daiki, and it also seems that they sang it together, so I guess Time is not a solo song. However, I found this information on one blog only, and I really hope they didn’t make this up. Never mind, there’s more sources confirming this, so I guess it’s true, yay!

In other news, the Hey!Hey!Hey! episode that was recorded yesterday will air on July 5th, two days before the album, and apparently Hey!Say!JUMP performed a medley similar to the one they did on Music Station the other week.

And in more other news, you may already have seen the post over at the hey_say community, but if you haven’t you might be interested to hear that Hey!Say!JUMP‘s official website was updated with additional information about Jump No.1:

  1. Inoo will be playing the piano on INFINITY, the song that Hikaru wrote the lyrics for.
  2. Keito will be playing the guitar on the Hikaru-written Ice cream Ai scream.
  3. Ryutaro will be playing the tambourine on Chinen‘s Smile Song.

Err… the tambourine? Seriously? Couldn’t they let him play a somewhat more sophisticated instrument? Like, perhaps a triangle? Or a vuvuzela? Oh well. >_>

Anyway, note how the new information is about exactly the only three people that were not mentioned when the track list was first posted. Let’s be cynical for a moment and imagine that Johnny’s, or J-Storm or whoever, got tons of angry emails from disgruntled Inoo-, Keito- and Ryutaro-fans who were not very pleased that they couldn’t find their favourite member anywhere on that track list. And so they had to come up with a solution, and it probably went like this:

Band Manager A: Damn, those Inoo-, Keito- and Ryutaro-fans are killing us! D:
Band Manager B: We have to add some information about them to the track list!
Band Manager A: Great idea! Let’s see, INFINITY has a piano in it! Inoo can play the piano! :D
Band Manager B: Awesome! And Keito plays the guitar! Do we have any songs with a guitar in it?
Band Manager A: Ai scream has a guitar! Let’s put Keito down for that. What about Ryutaro? Does Ryutaro play any instruments?
Band Manager B: Maa, I think he only plays Nintendo. What are we gonna do? :o
Band Manager A: Let’s put him down for the tambourine in Smile Song. Anyone could play the tambourine!
Band Manager B: Sugoi desu yo, A-san! Otsukaresama!
Band Manager A (gloating): Hai!

Or something like that. Or maybe Inoo, Keito and Ryutaro played those instruments all along, and they just forget to mention it when they first published that track list. Anyway, I hope they haven’t already started printing the CD booklet with those three names missing.

In 23 days we’ll know.
